Watchdog says launches banned content, law breaches search system

MOSCOW, Feb 13 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service’s General Radio Frequency Center has launched information system Oculus to search prohibited content on the Internet and violations of the law in the images and videos, a center spokesperson told PRIME on Monday.

“The developers have already finished their work on system Oculus. It was tested in operation in December 2022. Since January 2023, the information system has been integrated into the working monitoring systems,” the spokesperson said.

“Oculus has been launched and performs its tasks fully – it uncovers breaches of law in images and videos,” the spokesperson added.

The system recognizes images and symbols, illegal scenes and actions, analyses texts in photo and video materials, among others.
